Barbara Loden (July 8, 1932 – September 5, 1980) was a Broadway Tony award-winning American stage and film actress, model, and stage/film director. She was the first woman to write, direct and star in her own feature film, Wanda, which won the International Critics Award at the 1970 Venice Film Festival. Loden also directed several off-Broadway plays. Loden was a life member of the famed Actors Studio and appeared in several projects directed by her second husband, Elia Kazan, including Splendor in the Grass. In 1970 Loden wrote, produced, directed, and starred in her own independent film, Wanda, made with the collaboration of cinematographer and editor Nicholas T. Proferes, on a meager budget of $115,000. Wanda is an semi-autobiographical portrait of a "passive, disconnected coal miner's wife who attaches herself to a petty crook."[4] Innovative in its cinéma vérité style, it was one of the few American films directed by a woman to be theatrically released at that time. Film critic David Thomson wrote, "Wanda is full of unexpected moments and raw atmosphere, never settling for cliché in situation or character." The film was the only American film accepted to, and which won, the International Critics' Prize at the Venice Film Festival in 1970, and was presented at the 1971 Cannes Film Festival. In 2010, with support from Gucci, the film was restored by the UCLA Film & Television Archive and screened at the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan.

Karen Georgievich Shakhnazarov (Russian: Каре́н Гео́ргиевич Шахназа́ров; born 8 July 1952; Krasnodar) is a Soviet and Russian filmmaker, producer and screenwriter. He became the director general of Mosfilm in 1998. Shakhnazarov is the son of a Georgy Shakhnazarov, a politician of Armenian descent, and a Russian housewife, Anna Grigorievna Shakhnazarova. His 1987 film Courier was entered into the 15th Moscow International Film Festival, where it won a Special Prize. In 2002 he was a member of the jury at the 24th Moscow International Film Festival. Since 2005 he has been a member of the Public Chamber of Russia. His 2012 film White Tiger was selected as the Russian entry for the Best Foreign Language Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards, but it did not make the final shortlist.

Carlos Algara graduated with a B.A. from The Technological Institute of Higher Education of Monterrey, Mexico. His first short film, The Intruder (2010), was released at the 13th Shanghai Int. Film Festival. It was also selected at the 41st Int. Film Festival of India and was awarded the "Silver Goat" at the 6th Monterrey Int. Film Festival. In March of 2011 him and fellow director, Alejandro Martinez-Beltran created the production company The Visualistas, in Los Angeles and Monterrey, Mexico. Their first collaboration, a short film called El firulete (2011), was screened at several festivals, including Warsaw Film Festival, Raindance Film Festival, and Morelia Int. Film Festival, among others. In August 2012, Carlos graduated with a degree on Writing for Film and Television at the Vancouver Film School. In March 2015, him and fellow director, Alejandro Martinez-Beltran co-directed their first feature film called Veronica (2017) which is scheduled for theatrical release in Mexico in August, 2017. Sylvette Baudrot est une scripte française, née le 8 juillet 1928 à Alexandrie (Égypte). Elle a notamment travaillé sur un grand nombre de films d'Alain Resnais et de Roman Polanski. Elle est originaire d'Alexandrie où sa famille tient une pâtisserie très connue (la pâtisserie Baudrot est notamment mentionnée dans le roman Cléa de Lawrence Durrell). Elle reste à Alexandrie durant la seconde Guerre mondiale, ce qui lui permet de continuer à voir des films américains, chose impossible en France. Sa première collaboration avec Alain Resnais date de 1959 sur le film Hiroshima mon amour. Il a déclaré à ce propos: "Sans Sylvette Baudrot, je ne sais pas ce qui me serait arrivé." En effet, le film se tournant au Japon, elle se charge des contacts humains avec les Japonais sans même parler leur langue, et, grâce à son expérience, elle permet au réalisateur, dont c'est le deuxième long métrage, d'éviter de nombreuses complications sur le tournage. Grâce à elle, il acquiert une connaissance véritable de la grammaire cinématographique et des questions de directions de regard qu'il ne connaissait que par intuition. Avec une carrière qui va des Vacances de monsieur Hulot (1953), à Les Herbes folles (2009) et The Ghost Writer (2010), Sylvette Baudrot compte parmi les scriptes les plus chevronnées du cinéma français.
