Mais assez rapidement, il trouve des rôles dans le cinéma italien, dont il devient une vedette dans les années 1970, en tenant notamment le rôle principal de nombreux polars. En France, on le remarque surtout dans le feuilleton Châteauvallon. Il quitte ensuite le métier de comédien et se reconvertit, avec son épouse, dans la profession d'antiquaire. Spécialisé dans l'art asiatique, il tient un magasin d'antiquités à Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine et une galerie à Thoiry. Ayant cessé toute activité de comédien au début des années 1990, il fait en 2007 un brève apparition clin-d'œil dans Hostel, chapitre II.
