Il est acteur de théâtre et de cinéma. Son pseudonyme proviendrait du titre d'une pièce de Charles Vildrac créée en 1922, année de sa naissance. Michel Auclair est le fils de Wislaw (Voïa) Vujovic (1897-1936), avocat d'origine serbe, et de Charlotte Caspar (1895-1990), une biologiste française. Avant de devenir acteur, il étudie la médecine, puis il entre au Conservatoire. Son père est exécuté lors des purges staliniennes, le 3 octobre 1936. Sa mère se remarie à Raymond Guilloré (1903-1989). Au théâtre, il interprète (entre autres) des pièces de Paul Claudel, William Shakespeare, Arthur Miller, Jean Racine, Molière, Henrik Ibsen et Victor Hugo. Robert Florey (14 September 1900 – 16 May 1979) was a French-American director, screenwriter, film journalist and actor. Born as Robert Fuchs in Paris, he became an orphan at an early age and was then raised in Switzerland. In 1920 he worked at first as a film journalist, then as an assistant and extra in featurettes from Louis Feuillade. Florey moved to the United States in 1921.

Narimiya Hiroki, born Narimiya Hiroshige, is a Japanese actor and model. His parents divorced when he was young, and in his 3rd year of junior high school, his mother died, and he and his brother were raised by his grandmother. He had made a promise to his mother to become serious about acting and soon dropped out of school to pursue his career. He soon debuted in 2000 in the play "Horobikaketa Jinrui, Sono Ai no Honshitsu to wa (Perishing Humankind, What is the Essence of Its Love?)". Hiroki was chosen for the part of Kane out of the 3000 actors who auditioned. In February 2001, he made his movie debut in "Oboreru Sakana". In 2002, he appeared as Noda in the television drama, "Gokusen". With his life-sized performance in this role, Hiroki won both serious acclaim and popularity. In 2003, he performed in his first-period film, "Azumi", which became a box office hit and allowed Hiroki to display his swordplay skills from daily training. On December 2, 2016, Narimiya announced retirement from the entertainment industry following allegations of illicit drug use. The drug allegations were never confirmed, but Hiroki insisted on retiring. He is currently devoting himself to other personal artistic projects, but not in the field of acting. Après s'être consacré principalement à des films dramatiques à forte teneur sociale et politique, il commence à s'intéresser à la comédie dans la seconde partie de sa carrière, réalisant des films qui, tout en conservant les thématiques sociales de ses œuvres précédentes, se distinguent par leur tonalité humoristique satirique et cynique. L'expression «comédie à l'italienne» elle-même a été inspirée par l'un de ses films, Divorce à l'italienne, qui fut l'un des films les plus importants de ce courant artistique et lui valut le prix de la meilleure comédie au Festival de Cannes 1962, le Ruban d'argent du meilleur scénario en 1962 et l'Oscar du meilleur scénario original en 1963.
