Après avoir failli mourir dans un violent accident de voiture, l'enquêteur Jack Barnes commence à avoir d'inexplicables et terrifiantes prémonitions sur de prochaines catastrophes. Personne ne tient compte de ses avertissements, mais quand ses prémonitions se confirment, Jack est interrogé par deux agents du FBI, intéressés au plus haut point par ses capacités et tentant de le faire taire.
