Tino Christian Struckmann (born Tino Christian Nobel Von Struckmann; May 27, 1971) is a Danish-American actor and former soldier and celebrity bodyguard. He has been involved in the personal protection business for over fifteen years where he was formerly known as "Bodyguard -to-the-Stars". He served 10 years in the ARMY and finished his military service as an instructor in Germany. He was born in Denmark where he attended college and earned his degree in business management and History; he also studied Military history and wrote about it. He came to Los Angeles filled with enthusiasm and aspirations. He slept in his car for months while he learned the ropes of personal protection and competed in fitness and martial arts. After a few years, he joined the Army and later trained parts of the US Army in Germany, he also served as a contractor internationally and worked as a bodyguard and tour manager for many international artists, before returning to Los Angeles where he is now lives. He was also the lead in a national recruitment commercial that won year's best commercial award. He owns the international security firm International Special Service, Inc. He has worked as personal security for numerous celebrities including Microsoft founder Bill Gates, actor Robert DeNiro, recording artist Gloria Gaynor, model Naomi Campbell and Sir Cliff Richard. International clients have also included the Saudi Royal Family and Queen Margrethe of Denmark. His company has also provided security for the concert tours of Britney Spears, Cher, and The Rolling Stones as well as security detail for high-ranking United Nations officials. He finally made his home in Los Angeles where he wrote the book "Stalked, What You Can Do About It" which was published in 2005. He founded the Struckmann Foundation in order to raise funds and create awareness to help rape victims and victims of sex slavery; it is worth noting that of all the films Tino produce parts of the profits are donated to charities for women. He started as a consultant on a TV show, soon after to be cast as actor on TV series as E-ring, Numbers, CSI and Crossing Jordan followed by more acting roles. In 2006, he teamed up with renowned writer Warren Lewis (Black Rain and The 13th Warrior). They have produced several films and TV pilots together since and their films have won awards and an Oscar nomination and their feature film; Brothers War, where Tino played his first lead role. He produces several feature films every year, with several in development and various stages of production. He specializes in War and Action films. When not seen on TV, he is serving with the California Guard. He's also appeared as a security and military expert on many cable news shows and networks including CNN, Fox, Geraldo, ABC News and Entertainment Tonight speaking on women's safety issues. Schaal studied Theatre Arts at Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama (1985–1988) and has worked in television, film and theatre. His television credits include Missing, Casualty, The Wrong Door, Beautiful People, Hancock and Joan, Ashes To Ashes, The IT Crowd, Deceit, Doc Martin, Peak Practice, Silent Witness and Dangerfield. His film credits include Kidulthood, Mr. Nobody, Clubbed and Dirty Weekend. Schaal also appeared as "Norm", Shirley Carter's seedy landlord, in EastEnders and played troubled father "Tom Hargreaves" in Grange Hill. Other notable credits include playing "DS Bevan" in Paul Greengrass' The Murder of Stephen Lawrence, playing opposite William Baldwin in the film Relative Values, and appearing in Philip Davis' English football hooligan film I.D. Schaal also played "Eric" in Ben Wheatley's domestic British gangster film Down Terrace. Schaal wrote the short films Poppy's Present (directed by Chris Jury) and Half Time (directed by Duncan Roe).
