Luigi Comencini est un réalisateur italien, né le 8 juin 1916 à Salò, province de Brescia en Lombardie (Italie), mort le 6 avril 2007 à Rome. Au début des années 1920, dans le cortège de l'émigration italienne vers le Sud-Ouest, les parents de Luigi Comencini quittent les rives du lac de Garde pour le Lot-et-Garonne où ils s'installent à Colayrac-Saint-Cirq. Il passe une partie de sa scolarité au lycée Bernard Palissy à Agen. Après des études secondaires en France et cinq années à l'école d'architecture de Milan, il fonde, avec Alberto Lattuada et Mario Ferrari, la Cineteca Italiana où il réunit les premiers fonds d'archives du cinéma italien. Critique de cinéma, dès la fin de la guerre, il écrit des articles notamment dans l'Avanti et le Tempo, en même temps que des scénarios. En 1946, il réalise le court métrage documentaire Les Enfants dans la ville (Bambini in città) qui lui vaut le Ruban d'argent (Nastro d'argento). Le monde de l'enfance sera d'ailleurs un des thèmes récurrents de l'œuvre de Comencini qu'il aborde notamment dans son premier long-métrage, De nouveaux hommes sont nés (Proibito rubare), en 1946 ainsi que dans le drame psychologique L'Incompris en 1967, la télé-série Les Aventures de Pinocchio en 1972 et Eugenio en 1980. Souvent en marge des courants et des modes et malgré de grands succès publics comme Pain, amour et fantaisie ou de fortes œuvres satiriques comme La Grande Pagaille ou L'Argent de la vieille, son talent est resté assez sous-évalué par la critique qui lui préférait, dans les années 1970, un cinéma plus engagé. Luigi Comencini a eu quatre filles: Cristina, Francesca, Paola et Eleonora, qui font toutes carrière au cinéma. Il est mort de complications de la maladie de Parkinson. Dimple Kapadia (born 8 June 1957) is an Indian film actress who predominantly appears in Hindi films. She was launched by Raj Kapoor at age 16, playing the title role in his teen romance Bobby (1973). In that same year she married Indian actor Rajesh Khanna and retired from acting. Kapadia returned to the film industry in 1984, following her separation from Khanna. One of her films of that period was the drama Saagar (1985). Both Bobby and Saagar won her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She went on to establish herself as one of the leading actresses of Hindi cinema in the 1980s. Initially recognized as a national sex symbol, Kapadia was keen to avoid being stereotyped and expand her range of acting roles. She subsequently took on more serious parts in a range of film genres, from mainstream to parallel cinema, and received acclaim for her performances in such films as Kaash (1987), Drishti (1990), Lekin... (1990), and Rudaali (1993), which earned her a National Film Award for Best Actress and a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress. He is best known for playing Christopher Hayden, Rory Gilmore's father and Lorelai Gilmore's on-and-off boyfriend, on the CW show Gilmore Girls. A 1990 graduate of Victoria College at the University of Toronto where he studied English literature, he played varsity basketball before succumbing to a career-ending knee injury. While in college, he waited tables at local greasy spoon Michael's on Bay. Before heading to Hollywood, he starred in the independent feature film Two or Three Words, directed by Toronto-local Evan Georgiades. He subsequently appeared in the straight to DVD film Cake with Heather Graham, Taye Diggs, Sandra Oh and Sarah Chalke, and the film Testosterone opposite Antonio Sabato Jr. and Sônia Braga. John Sturgill Simpson (born June 8, 1978) is an American country music singer-songwriter and actor. As of February 2022, he has released seven albums as a solo artist. His first two albums, High Top Mountain and Metamodern Sounds in Country Music, were independently released in 2013 and 2014, respectively. The latter was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Americana Album, listed 18th on Rolling Stone's "50 Best Albums of 2014," and named among "NPR's 50 Favorite Albums of 2014."
