He appeared in over 200 feature films, short subjects and television shows starting in 1929. He is not to be confused with silent film actor Billy Gilbert (a.k.a. Little Billy Gilbert, born William V. Campbell, 1891–1961).

Tony Gilroy, né le 11 septembre 1956 à New York, est un scénariste et réalisateur américain. Fils d’une sculpteuse et de Frank D. Gilroy, un producteur, réalisateur, scénariste et dramaturge (notamment de la pièce multi-récompensée The Subject Was Roses), le New-yorkais Tony Gilroy, suivant l’exemple de ses parents, se tourne vers une carrière artistique. En 1992, à 36 ans, il signe son premier scénario pour le drame sportif Le Feu sur la glace. Par la suite, il se spécialise surtout dans les thrillers et les films d’action. Il écrit ainsi trois scénario pour Taylor Hackford : Dolores Claiborne (1995, adapté d'un roman de Stephen King), le plus fantastique L'Associé du diable (1998) et le haletant L'Echange (2001). Toujours côté thriller, il scénarise au cours de sa carrière Mesure d'urgence (1997) et Jeux de Pouvoir (2009). John Curran (born September 11, 1960) is an American film director and screenwriter. Born in Utica, New York, Curran studied illustration and design at Syracuse University, then worked as an illustrator, graphic designer, and production designer in Manhattan before moving to Sydney, Australia in 1986. There he worked on television commercials before writing and directing the short film Down Rusty Down. For his debut feature film, the 1998 drama Praise, he was nominated for the Australian Film Institute Award for Best Direction and won the Film Critics Circle of Australia Award for Best Director and the International Critics' Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. Six years passed before Curran tackled his next project, the independent film We Don't Live Here Anymore, for which he was nominated for the Grand Special Prize at the Deauville American Film Festival and the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. He followed this two years later with The Painted Veil, the third screen adaptation of the 1925 novel by W. Somerset Maugham. He wrote the screenplay for The Killer Inside Me, the second film adaptation of the 1952 novel by Jim Thompson. Directed by Michael Winterbottom and starring Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson, Casey Affleck, and Bill Pullman, it currently is filming in Oklahoma. Renzo Montagnani, né le 11 septembre 1930 à Alessandria, dans le Piémont, et mort le 22 mai 1997 à Rome, est un acteur italien. Fils d'un employé des chemins de fer, Renzo Montagnani envisage d'abord une carrière de pharmacien. Mais, pendant ses études, il se découvre une passion pour le théâtre et décide, une fois son diplôme obtenu, de se lancer dans une carrière d'acteur. Il tourne avec diverses compagnies théâtrales avant de débuter au cinéma au début des années 1960. Installé à Rome pour percer au cinéma et à la télévision, il devient vite un visage familier du public italien, et accède aux premiers rôles à la fin de la décennie. Il se spécialise dans les rôles comiques et, dans les années 1970, apparaît fréquemment dans des comédies érotiques, où il interprète des rôles de bouffon affolé par les actrices "sexy" qui l'entourent. Ces films, qui remportent souvent de gros succès commerciaux en Italie malgré le mépris que leur voue la critique, lui permettent de cimenter sa popularité.
