Melissa Suzanne George (born 6 August 1976) is an Australian film and television actress who has worked in Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States. Melissa is perhaps best known for her role as Angel Parrish on the Australian soap opera Home and Away. The show was followed for appearances in the series, including Roar and Thieves. Melissa also has appeared in the hit shows Alias and In Treatment. Her film debut was in the neo-noir science fiction feature Dark City (1998), and later was cast in supporting roles in the films The Limey (1999) and David Lynch's drama Mulholland Dr. (2001). Other film appearances include the remake of The Amityville Horror (2005), the thriller Turistas (2006), and the vampire horror 30 Days of Night (2007). She has earned critical acclaim recently for her starring role in the psychological horror Triangle (2009). Manoj Nelliyattu Shyamalan (né le 6 août 1970), connu professionnellement sous le nom de M. Night Shyamalan, est un réalisateur, scénariste et producteur américain d'origine indienne connu pour avoir réalisé des films avec des intrigues surnaturelles contemporaines qui culminent avec une fin de torsion. Il est également connu pour filmer ses films (et mettre en scène ses intrigues) à Philadelphie et dans les environs, en Pennsylvanie, où il a grandi. Shyamalan a sorti son premier film, Praying with Anger, en 1992 alors qu'il était étudiant à l'Université de New York. Son deuxième film, le grand long métrage Wide Awake, réalisé en 1995 mais sorti trois ans plus tard, n'a pas réussi financièrement. Lucille Désirée Ball  (August 6, 1911 – April 26, 1989) was an American comedian, film, television, stage and radio actress, model, film and television executive, and star of the sitcoms I Love Lucy, The Lucy–Desi Comedy Hour, The Lucy Show, Here's Lucy and Life With Lucy. One of the most popular and influential stars in America during her lifetime, with one of Hollywood's longest careers, especially on television, Ball began acting in the 1930s, becoming both a radio actress and B-movie star in the 1940s, and then a television star during the 1950s. She was still making films in the 1960s and 1970s. Ball received thirteen Emmy Award nominations and four wins. In 1977 Ball was among the first recipients of the Women in Film Crystal Award. She was the recipient of the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award in 1979, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Kennedy Center Honors in 1986 and the Governors Award from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in 1989. In 1929, Ball landed work as a model and later began her performing career on Broadway using the stage name Dianne Belmont. She appeared in many small movie roles in the 1930s as a contract player for RKO Radio Pictures. Ball was labeled as the "Queen of the Bs" (referring to her many roles in B-films). In 1951, Ball was pivotal in the creation of the television series I Love Lucy. The show co-starred her then husband, Desi Arnaz as Ricky Ricardo and Vivian Vance and William Frawley as Ethel and Fred Mertz, the Ricardos' landlords and friends. The show ended in 1957 after 180 episodes. They then changed the format a little - lengthening the time of the show from 30 minutes to 60 minutes (the first one went 75 mins), adding some characters, altering the storyline somewhat, and renaming the show from "I Love Lucy" to "The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour", which ran for three seasons (1957–1960) and 13 episodes. Ball went on to star in two more successful television series: The Lucy Show, which ran on CBS from 1962 to 1968 (156 Episodes), and Here's Lucy from 1968 to 1974 (144 episodes). Her last attempt at a television series was a 1986 show called Life with Lucy - which failed miserably after 8 episodes aired although 13 were produced. Ball met and eloped with Cuban bandleader Desi Arnaz in 1940. On July 17, 1951, almost 40 years old, Ball gave birth to their first child, Lucie Désirée Arnaz. A year and a half later, Ball gave birth to their second child, Desiderio Alberto Arnaz IV, known as Desi Arnaz, Jr. Ball and Arnaz divorced on May 4, 1960. Enfant turbulent, Robert Mitchum est arrêté à 14 ans pour vagabondage et placé en pénitencier. A sa sortie le jeune Mitchum retourne chez lui. Il continue de travailler à l’usine et se produit au théâtre. Puis, il rencontre Harry Sherman, agent à Hollywood, qui lui propose de tourner dans un serial western (feuilleton à très petit budget) aux côtés de William Boyd. Désormais marié, pour faire vivre sa famille, Robert Mitchum tourne tous les films qu’on lui propose. On le voit ainsi dans un film de Stan Laurel et Oliver Hardy : Maitres de ballets (1943) pour lequel il n’est pas crédité. De 1944 à 1947, il joue dans trois films par an en moyenne, enchainant les tournages. L’un d’eux, Les Forçats de la gloire, lui vaut une nomination aux Oscars. Trois films de la même année marquent son début de carrière : La Vallée de la peur, Feux croisés et La Griffe du passé (1947). En 1954, son contrat avec la RKO prend fin, et Mitchum est libre de choisir ses rôles. En 1958 sort son film le plus personnel. « Gros Bob » (comme l’appelle ses détracteurs) est à la fois producteur et scénariste de ce projet qui s’intitule Thunder Road. Le film raconte l’histoire d’un vétéran de la guerre de Corée qui revient dans son village et va s'occuper des affaires familiales. Il va s’opposer aux gangsters comme aux forces de la loi. Pour Mitchum, l’individualisme est la seule manière de survivre. En 1961, dans Celui par qui le scandale arrive... de Vincente Minnelli, le mythe "Robert Mitchum" prend une autre dimension. C’est la première fois qu’il joue un patriarche. Pour ce rôle, dans lequel il est impérial, l'acteur reçoit à 43 ans (et 61 films) le lauréat du meilleur acteur, remis par le National Board of Review. Les années 60 le voient participer à de grandes réussites comme Les Horizons sans frontières (1960) de Fred Zinnemann ou El Dorado (1966), le remake de Rio Bravo par Howard Hawks et John Wayne, fidèles au poste. Les années 70 sont inégales pour Mitchum, mais se dégagent des pépites comme Adieu, ma jolie (1975) avec Charlotte Rampling, ou Yakuza (1974), qui inspira une scène de Kill Bill : Volume 1 à Quentin Tarantino. Toujours où on ne l'attend pas, le comédien joue un mari trompé dans La Fille de Ryan (1970) du réalisateur britannique David Lean. Dans les années 80, Mitchum tourne beaucoup pour la télévision (notamment le célèbre Saturday Night Live), et délaisse quelque peu le cinéma avant d’y revenir pour la décennie 90. On lui remet pour l’ensemble de sa carrière le prix du National Board of Review of Motion Pictures et le prix Cecil B. DeMille aux Golden globes de 1992. L’une de ses dernières apparitions sur grand écran n’est pas parmi les moins étranges. Born on August 6, 1928, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Andy Warhol was a successful magazine and ad illustrator who became a leading artist of the 1960s Pop art movements. He ventured into a wide variety of art forms, including performance art, filmmaking, video installations and writing, and controversially blurred the lines between fine art and mainstream aesthetics.
