Honor Blackman est une actrice britannique née le 22 août 1925 à Plaistow, Newham, près de Londres, et morte le 5 avril 2020 à Lewes1. Elle possède un diplôme honorifique de l'Université de Londres-Est. Après des débuts au théâtre après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, Honor Blackman se lance dans le cinéma à la fin des années 40, s'illustrant notamment dans Fame Is the Spur, Si Paris l'avait su ou A Boy, a Girl and a Bike, avant d'apparaître face à Elizabeth Taylor dans Guet-apens (1949) ou le film-catastrophe Atlantique latitude 41 (1958). Elle tourne parallèlement pour la télévision, et devient une star du petit écran et une icône féministe dans le rôle de Cathy Gale, première partenaire de John Steed dans Chapeau melon et bottes de cuir. Profitant de ce succès, elle quitte le programme et retourne au cinéma, d'abord dans Jason et les Argonautes (1963) et surtout dans Goldfinger, troisième aventure cinéma de James Bond (1964). Face à Sean Connery (qu'elle retrouve quatre ans plus tard dans le western Shalako), elle incarne Pussy Galore, femme forte et indépendante, leader de l’équipe féminine de pilotes du Flying Circus et tueuse en chef d'Auric Goldfinger. Le personnage, considéré comme l'une des plus célèbres James Bond Girls, reviendra sur le devant de la scène en 2015 dans le roman Déclic mortel d'Anthony Horowitz. Après l'aventure Bond, Honor Blackman mène une carrière solide entre cinéma (Les Chemins de la puissance, Le Dernier des Romains, Rio Verde, Une fille... pour le diable, Le Chat et le canari), théâtre et télévision où elle joue notamment dans quelques épisodes de Dr Who en 1986, ainsi que dans sept saisons de la série The Upper Hand, adaptation britannique de Madame est servie.
