Dans les années 1970, il avait étudié la médecine en France. En 1981, à cause de la révolution islamique et la guerre Iran-Irak, la famille s'installe dans l'ouest de Paris. Catherine Bozorgan a une grande sœur ingénieure. Pour sa part, elle étudie à l'ESCP et à HEC. Elle commence à travailler chez Ciné Nominé, une entreprise de financement des films. Elle y rencontre Albert Dupontel, qui lui propose de coproduire son film Le Vilain. Elle crée alors sa propre structure. Elle est présidente de la société de production de cinéma Manchester Films, et produit également les films d'Albert Dupontel à travers ADCB Films depuis 2009. Aux César 2021, elle monte sur la scène de l'Olympia chercher quatre des sept récompenses du film Adieu les cons. En 2021, elle a déjà participé à la production de quelque 200 films. A member of the Irgun as a teenager, Avnery sat in the Knesset from 1965–74 and 1979-81. He was also the owner of HaOlam HaZeh, an Israeli news magazine, from 1950 until it closed in 1993. He is famous for crossing the lines during the Battle of Beirut to meet Yassir Arafat on 3 July 1982, the first time the Palestinian leader ever met with an Israeli. Avnery is the author of several books about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including 1948: A Soldier’s Tale, the Bloody Road to Jerusalem (2008); Israel’s Vicious Circle (2008); and My Friend, the Enemy (1986).
