Morris W. Stoloff was a musical composer. Stoloff worked with Sammy Davis Jr., Dinah Shore and Frank Sinatra. Stoloff worked as music director at Columbia Pictures from 1936 to 1962. Among space age pop fans, he is best remembered for his 1956 Top 10 hit that paired the swing era tune "Moonglow" with the love theme from the movie Picnic, the medley called "Moonglow and Theme from Picnic". It sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc by the RIAA. Stoloff was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A child prodigy on the violin, Stoloff was taken under the wing of W. A. Clark. After studying with Leopold Auer for several years, Stoloff was touring the U.S. as a featured soloist at the age of 16, and joined the Los Angeles Philharmonic a year later as its youngest member ever. When sound came to motion pictures, studios came looking for musicians to provide it, and Stoloff was one of the first to cross over from classical music to movies. He was the first concertmaster on Paramount Pictures' payroll, and he worked with setting up the mechanics of a system that had to provide a steady stream of music for everything from epic dramas to serials and comedy shorts. In 1936, Stoloff moved over to Columbia Pictures, where he took the title of music director, a new position unique to the studio system. As music director, he was the chief executive responsible for providing musical production support to every film the studio released. This meant matching up composers, orchestrators, conductors, musicians and recording facilities to meet the creative scope of each project as well as its schedule and budget. Stoloff often took partial credit for a picture's score when he worked closely with a particular composer to work out a theme, motifs, and melodies. As a result, he ranks among some of the most-nominated individuals in the history of the Academy Awards. He won three Oscars for best scores, including those for Cover Girl (1944), The Jolson Story (1946), and Song Without End (1960), and was nominated 14 other times. By the late 1940s, film music was beginning to be recognized on its own, and Stoloff began recording some of the more popular numbers as singles for Decca Records. When long-play albums were perfected, the studios saw the opportunity to market more than just singles to the listening audience, and soundtrack albums became a hot commodity. Stoloff exercised his privilege as musical director to record these soundtrack albums himself, working with material from the actual scores. When Frank Sinatra founded Reprise Records in the early 1960s, he hired Stoloff as musical director; the two having worked successfully before on Pal Joey (1957). One of Stoloff's most noteworthy achievements while at Reprise was the release of a set of re-recordings of great Broadway musicals, including Kiss Me, Kate with a studio cast. Stoloff died in Los Angeles, California, aged 81.

Né en 1962 à Besançon, il n’y remettra plus les pieds ! Après l’éclatement familial, il suit des études complètes de prof de dessin à la fac de Bordeaux, il n’y remettra plus les pieds non plus. Le voilà donc errant toute une année à Toulouse, puis à Lille pour enseigner à des collégiens ; ce qui le fatigue beaucoup et empêche son ego créatif de s’exprimer pleinement. Il décide donc il y a 20 ans de se former tout seul aux techniques de l’animation en réalisant son premier court-métrage, et de se pointer à Paris, puisqu’il n’y a que là qu’on pouvait espérer vivre de cette technique nouvellement promue par la politique ministérielle de l’époque. Hélas très déçu par l’ambiance de travail qui règne dans les sociétés officielles, il participe avec plaisir à la création de « l’atelier d’anim » qui devient son lieu de prédilection en même temps qu’un pôle discret de l’animation parisienne. Suivant les fameux conseils des marabouts de Barbès, chance, travail et amour rythment désormais son existence jalonnée de dossiers graphiques, d’animations commerciales idiotes, de réalisation de pilotes de séries raffinées et de courts métrages d’auteur (trop rares à son goût), d’un long métrage déjà sorti et d’un autre en préparation. Peter Michael Tong, MBE (born 30 July 1960) is an English DJ who works for BBC Radio 1. He is the host of programmes such as Essential Mix and Essential Selection on the radio service, which can be heard through Internet radio streams, for his record label FFRR Records, and for his own performances at nightclubs and music festivals. Tong has also worked as a record producer, and is regarded as the "global ambassador for electronic music".

Telsche Boorman, née le 30 juillet 1959 à Lyndhurst (Angleterre) et morte le 11 février 1996 à Paris 16e, est une scénariste et une actrice britannique. Elle est l'aînée des quatre enfants (avec Katrine et les jumeaux Charley et Daisy) nés du premier mariage du réalisateur John Boorman avec la costumière allemande Christel Kruse. Alors qu'elle n'a pas un an, mais marche déjà, elle tombe la tête la première dans un étang. Son père la repêche inanimée et sans pouls, et raconte comment il a pu la sauver: «J'ai pratiqué le bouche-à-bouche (technique peu connue à l'époque), revoyant tout à coup un article entraperçu peu avant dans un journal». De ce fait, les liens resteront très forts entre le père et la fille. Telsche Boorman fait, enfant, ses débuts au cinéma avec sa sœur Katrine dans le premier film de John Boorman, Sauve qui peut (1965). Par la suite, sa sœur Katrine précise: «elle était vraiment le bras droit de papa, elle écrivait, tournait et réalisait avec lui», notamment pour Zardoz (1974), Excalibur (1981), La Guerre à sept ans (1987), Tout pour réussir (1990). Ainsi que Gazon maudit qu'elle co-adapte avec Josiane Balasko en 1995. Elle se marie avec le journaliste français Lionel Rotcage (1948-2006) avec lequel elle a une fille, Daphné née en 1988. Résidant en France, elle se partage entre l'écriture (scénarios, dialogues) pour différents réalisateurs et ses apparitions au cinéma. Au début des années 1990, à la télévision, avec sa sœur Katrine, elles conçoivent et interprètent des sketches pour l'émission quotidienne de divertissement Coucou c'est nous! où elles sont «Les sœurs Boorman». Telsche Boorman obtient un César posthume (partagé avec Josiane Balasko) pour le scénario de Gazon maudit (1996). Elle meurt dans le 16e arrondissement de Paris des suites d'un cancer de l'ovaire et elle est inhumée au cimetière de Montmartre, 24e division, avenue du Tunnel, 1re ligne.
