Jean-Louis Comolli is a French filmmaker, screenwriter and writer, born in 1941 in Philippeville (now Skikda, Algeria). After working for Les Cahiers du Cinéma from 1962 to 1978, of which he was editor in chief from 1966 to 1971, he became a director of fiction and documentaries. Also a journalist for Jazz Magazine, he has co-written or edited several books on jazz. His multiple works and his theoretical thinking on cinema have nourished many filmmakers and documentary lovers. He died on May 19, 2022.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Ann Brashares (born July 30, 1967) is an American writer of young adult fiction. She is best known as the author of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series of books. Brashares was born in Alexandria, Virginia and grew up in Chevy Chase, Maryland. She attended elementary and high school at the Sidwell Friends School in Washington D.C. After studying philosophy at Barnard College, she worked as an editor for 17th Street Productions. 17th Street was acquired by Alloy Entertainment, and following the acquisition she worked briefly for Alloy. After leaving Alloy she wrote The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, which became an international best seller. It was followed with three more titles in the "Pants" series, the last of which, Forever in Blue, was released in January, 2007. The first book in the series was made into a film in 2005, and a second film based on the other three titles in the series was released in August, 2008. Brashares's first adult novel, The Last Summer (of You and Me) was released in 2007. A companion book to the Sisterhood series, 3 Willows: The Sisterhood Grows was published in 2009. A second novel for adults, My Name is Memory was published in 2010 and has been optioned for film.[2] She lives in New York with her artist husband, Jacob Collins, and children Nathaniel, Samuel, Susannah, and Isaiah. Sean Patrick Maloney (born July 30, 1966) is an American lawyer and politician who served as the U.S. representative from New York's 18th congressional district from 2013 to 2023. The district includes Newburgh, Beacon, and Poughkeepsie. A member of the Democratic Party, Maloney ran for New York Attorney General in 2018, coming in third place to Letitia James in the primary. Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, and raised in Hanover, New Hampshire, Maloney earned his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia. He entered politics as a volunteer for Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign and later served as his senior West Wing adviser and White House Staff Secretary. Before being elected to Congress, Maloney worked as a software company executive and as an attorney. He was elected to the U.S. House in 2012, defeating Republican Party incumbent Nan Hayworth. He campaigned as a moderate and was a member of the centrist New Democratic Coalition while serving in Congress. He is the first openly gay person elected to Congress from New York. He served as chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee from 2021 to 2023. In the 2022 election, he lost reelection in New York's 17th congressional district to Republican Mike Lawler. As of June 2023, Maloney is the nominee to serve as the United States ambassador to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
